Aberdeen Country Fair is a farmers market that is held in Aberdeen City Centre, North East Scotland.
This award winning market, which is now over 10 years old, hosts around 25 stall holders, all offering local Scottish produce.
The market specialises in fresh fish, caught nearby in the clean, clear waters surrounding Aberdeen Harbour. Throw in a wee drop of Scotch whisky straight from the local distillery, some Aberdeen Angus Beef, a delicious variety of local cheeses, Scottish wines and liqueurs, plus organic fruit and vegetables and an impressive array of confectionary, home made ice creams, jams, preserves and baked goods. The result equals a mouth watering selection of some of Scotland's finest locally produced food and drink, which is probably the reason around 20,000 people descend on the market every month.
As well as edible and drinkable treats, the market also hosts a number of crafts stalls, allowing locals artists and craftspeople the opportunity to show off their talents.
Belmont Street, where the market takes place, is also home to a number of shops, bars and restaurants, a cinema and a buzzing nightlife scene, providing you with extra amenities and entertainment once your market trip is over.
Getting there: The market takes place on the fourth Saturday of every month from 9am-6pm, on Belmont Street in the heart of the City Centre. Extra market dates are also held in the run up to Christmas, and a mini version of the market is held weekly at the Academy Shopping Centre on Saturday's, although the range of goods on offer is significantly reduced.
