Chichester

Chichester is a cathedral city situated in the South-East county of West Sussex in England. With its interesting buildings, beautiful surrounds and vibrant culture, Chesterfield is an excellent place to enjoy a stay at any time of the year.

Originally a Roman military base before becoming a sumptuous palace, Fishbourne Roman Place was discovered by accident during the digging of water mains.
Visitors can view a large collection of mosaics, a range of plants known to have been grown by the Romans as well as a Roman potting shed.

Visitors can enjoy guided tours, a stroll through Bishop’s Palace Gardens or the Cloisters café and shop.

Chichester District Museum, 29 Little London, Chichester PO19 1PB (01243) 784683
Founded in 1831, Chichester District Museum was originally set up in the Royal West Sussex Hospital.
Moving to its present location in 1962, the museum now contains items relevant to local geology, history and archaeology.
