One of the most beautiful and peaceful places in Northern Ireland County Fermanagh is a hidden gem and its Lakelands are one of the best kept secrets for a holiday destination. The peace of the countryside and the water will stay with visitors forever. Many people take a scenic drive over to Lough Navar where there are stunning views of the Donegal Mountains and Lough Erne.

The underground caves of stalagmites and stalagtites at the Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark are another well known attraction in the area. For many fishing in County Fermanagh is the ideal way to spend a day on the lakelands whilst others take up windsurfing and water skiing. At Belleek visit the beautiful pottery workshops for fine work.

In Enniskillen visit the castle and grounds, and take time to explore the Headhunters Barber Shop and railway Museum. Take a trip onto Lough Erne on the MV Kestrel, and hear the legend of the Lady on the Lake.  

County Fermanagh has a number of stately homes and gardens including Florence Court. At Roslea Heritage centre there is a reconstructed Victorian classroom. Look for deer and pine marten on the Crom Estate, and watch for birds in this beautiful part of the country. County Fermanagh has many art and crafts studios with the beauty of the area inspiring many of the artists.

For canoeists the Shannon Erne waterway is a great place to paddle and cavers will find the Tullybrack- Belmore Uplands an excellent cave system. Cuilcach Mountain is another well known caving circuit. With excellent restaurants and good local food County Fermanagh is ideally placed as a holiday destination in this beautiful part of Northern Ireland. Don’t forget to try the famous Fermanagh Black Bacon and experience a traditional Irish pub.
