Coventry Airport is situated at the heart of the country and is easily accessible from the UK Motorway network. It is only 60 minutes from London by rail.
The nearest rail station to the airport is Coventry Rail Station and it is only a 15 minute journey by bus (currently the no737) which stops adjacent to the station. It is possible to buy rail tickets which include this short journey to the airport by asking for the bus ticket to be added on. The bus service also stops in Coventry city centre. Another of its stops connects with a National Express coach service which operates from Pool Meadow Bus Station: The buses run every half an hour.
Coventry Airport does not run any passenger services but does run commercial, corporate, business and cargo flights. It is a Patriot Aerospace Company and specializes in flight training, and chartering aircraft.
For executive flights there are pick up and drop off areas at the front of the airport. The airport lounge is fully equipped with Wi Fi stations and refreshments. Pilots and air crew have their own rest rooms and shower facilities. Airport staff can offer advice on hotel accommodation, limousine hire or information about staying in Coventry.
The airport is also involved in carrying cargo and has a large area which is used as a storage facility. Aircraft operators who use the airport include Atlantic Airlines. Service re cargo shipments include full import/export movements, HMRC facilities, ramp access, capability of handling dangerous goods and availability of cargo handling 24 hours a day.
Private pilots’ licenses requiring 45 hours of flying can be trained for at Coventry airport, as well as training in helicopters -since Coventry Airport has a helipad. It is also possible to book a one-off flying lesson.
