The East Riding of Yorkshire has some of the most beautiful places in the North of England well worth a holiday to the region. The historic city of York is a major attraction with the famous Minster, the Jorvik Viking Centre and the old city gates of Stone Gate. York Castle Museum has a fascinating display of pieces from the area.
On the coast Flamborough Head is the largest seabird breeding colony in England and nearby Bempton a well known bird watching spot. With sandy beaches facing onto the North Sea this area is popular with holiday makers and with walkers. Try fishing at one of the country parks, or cycling some of the many trails in the area.
The historic town of Beverly is another picturesque place with its Minster and the famous carvings at St Mary’s Church. The town also houses the Museum of Army Transport and has one of the biggest markets in Yorkshire.
