Emsworth

Emsworth is a small town located on the south coast of England on within Hampshire, on the border with West Sussex. Known as a resort for pleasure boats, Emsworth is the perfect place for yacht and boat enthusiasts.

The town is known to host an excellent annual food festival – The Emsworth Food Festival – in the month of September, which is run by unpaid volunteers and is the largest event of its kind in the United Kingdom. Due to complaints by residents the excellent festival has had to downscale to smaller events spread out over the year, however the main attractions still continue in September.

 

Emsworth has excellent links to the nearby towns of Chichester and Brighton, both by rail and bus and the town are favourable towards tourists, with many guesthouses and bed and breakfasts in the area for people to stay, making Emsworth the perfect base for your holiday.

Opened in 1988, Emsworth Museum aims to archive and display the history of Emsworth and the surrounding area.

Famed for its resident author, P.G. Wodehouse; Emsworth’s Museum exhibits artefacts related to him and the town’s old sea-faring families.
