Guernsey airport opened in 2004 and has won awards for its architectural design. An internet cafe and large duty free are two of the facilities on offer. It also boasts one of the first airport-based fair-trade stores. The airport is situated 3 miles south of the Island’s capital, St Peter’s Port. The Island lies South West of the English Channel close to the Normandy and Brittany Coasts. The weather tends to be mild in the winter and sunny and dry in summer.
GCI Guernsey airport hosts flights to most major UK cities including London Gatwick, Stansted, Birmingham, Manchester, East Midlands, Exeter and Southampton, as well as flights to Jersey, Zurich and Geneva. During the summer flights are available to Dusseldorf and Rotterdam.
Island Coachways run a service from the airport to destinations on the Island, and there is a taxi rank located on the forecourt – where pre-booking is advisable.
