Halifax

Halifax is a Minster town located within West Yorkshire, England. Halifax has many qualities worthy of a holiday town, with entertainment, historic and cultural aspects throughout the area.

Amongst these is The Piece Hall, a former cloth hall where the trading of woolen cloth pieces was done. Located beside a large business park is the Victorian Gothic North Bridge, a must-see for architectural enthusiasts. The Town Hall, built is 1863, was designed by Charles Barry who was also the architect for the Houses of Parliament, and is a stunning building and the main focal point within the town.

Amongst these you can find Borough Market, which is an award winning Victorian covered market place in the town centre and still features markets and events to this day. Being in the county of West Yorkshire, you can enjoy a variety of outdoor attractions in Halifax, including Ogden Water County Park and Nature Reserve that features a haven of flora and fauna stunning views and walks for people of all abilities.

One of West Yorkshire’s most important heritage sites; Shibden Hall was built in the early 15th Century.
Complete with a Folk Museum and Barn, Shibden Hall runs a wide-ranging programme of arts and crafts events. The Shibden Estate itself is set in over 90 acres and contains a boating lake, pitch & putt golf course and miniature train.
