Machynlleth is a market town located within Powys, Wales in the Dyfi Valley at the intersection of the A487 and the A489 roads, which provides adequate transport links.
As well as a variety of mountain biking trails and excellent walks, Machynlleth features a number of activity-based attractions and a number of visitor centres. Driven by the local Centre for Alternative Technology, the area plays host to a large wind farm and research centre dedicated to the development of renewable energy resources, and has since become a pioneer in the environmentally friendly sector.
The town also hosts a large market on Wednesdays, including a number of traditional Welsh stalls as well as delicious Spanish and French food stalls. Also featured within the town is The Wales Museum of Modern Art talks and performances on the market days, which attracts spectators from far and wide. Machynlleth has a number of accommodation choices to suit individual tastes and budgets, as well as a large range of evening activities and restaurants.
