Okehampton is a town that can be found in the West of county Devon in England on the northern edge of Dartmoor, with the Dartmoor National Park just outside of the town’s borders. Buildings of Note in the town include the 15th century chapel of St. James and Okehampton Castle.
There is also a Roman fort close to the Town. In order to learn more about the town’s fascinating history, the town is also home to the Museum of Dartmoor Life, which features a number of artefacts found in the town and surrounding areas, as well as documents detailing historical events.
Located on the edge of Dartmoor is this castle, with its 13th century tower, and great views of the countryside.
The 30 metres waterfall here, crashes into southwest Englands deepest gorge. It is a lovely place to walk around and spot local birdlife and animals.
