The airport is situated in the heart of the Yorkshire/Humber region of the UK and is close to Sheffield
, Leeds, Bradford, Hull, York and Lincoln. For those travelling by car it is easily accessible from the M62 and M1 motorways. For users of Sat Navigation not all systems recognise ‘Robin Hood’ airport – ‘Hurst Lane, Doncaster’ should be used instead.
There is a free 15 minute drop off and pick up point at the front of the airport terminal. There is both short and long term parking at the airport which can be booked in advance or tickets can be taken at the barriers and charges paid via machine when leaving the airport. For pre-booked passengers a credit card recognition scheme is now in operation. Five car hire companies are situated at the airport including Hertz and Europcar.

Shops and eateries open to welcome the first flights and close after the last flight has left and include a duty free, a W H Smiths and a Travelex travel store, as well as Costa Coffee and two Weatherspoons.
Doncaster airport subcontracts some of the services it provides to people with special needs – they can be alerted by pressing a help button located within the car park and there is a special seating area for waiting in inside the terminal while help is on its way. They can help with luggage; assist whilst in the terminal and when checking-in.
