Sunday Upmarket

UK travel information

The Sunday Upmarket is set in "Ely's Yard" at The Old Truman Brewery in London's East End and has been trading since 2004. This 11 acre site spans both sides of the famous Brick Lane, the location of some of the world's finest Curry Houses. The market takes place indoors, so it is an ideal place to spend a rainy Sunday!

St. George's market

Over 140 stalls offer some of the edgiest clothing and accessories in London, with many of London's up and coming designers using the market to promote their designs. Whether it is modern or vintage fashion you prefer - man, woman and child are all catered for here.

The market is an accessory lovers paradise, with beautiful one off bags, shoes, hats and jewellery.

Intertwined with all the fashion, you will also stumble across art and craft stalls, vintage vinyl, household accessories and more.

However, even if you have no interest in shopping, there is another essential reason to visit this market - to eat!

Local East-Enders rave about the food on offer here, and many make a weekly trip to savour the dazzling array of cuisines on offer that you don't find at any of the other London markets.

This is an epicurean's heaven, with food stalls cooking up authentic Moroccan, Tibetan, Jamaican, Japanese, Vietnamese, Mauritian, Brazilian and Ethiopian cuisine, to name a few!

For those who prefer to stick to the norm, there are the usual pancakes, hot dogs, burgers, Chinese and Indian foods on offer.

At night, The Old Truman Brewery transforms into one of London's hippest nights out, with bars, restaurants and a cutting edge live music venue all coming to life.

Getting There: The market is open from 10am-5pm every Sunday.
Both Liverpool Street and Aldgate East Tube Stations are a couple of minutes walk away, and there are two car parks on adjacent streets.
