Situated to the west of Manchester, the Trafford Centre is one of the largest shopping areas in the northwest. The access to the centre is arranged equally for both levels and shops are available accordingly.

One of the most impressive areas to eat is the Great Hall in the Orient section. This massive open space can seat up to 1,600 people. It is surrounded by all types of food providers on two levels and has a large screen for viewing whilst you eat. The Orient is open till at least midnight, every day.

Nearby is the 20 screen cinema. As well as showings of all the latest films all day, the cinema is open to 1.00am on weekdays and 3.00am Fridays- Saturdays. Combined with the Orient it is a great night out.

For younger visitors there is a wide selection of amusements and entertainments. For the very young –  2 to 7 years – there is a crèche facility, with full professional supervision and organisation. For all ages a soft play area allows for expending of energy safely. This area is parent supervised.

Within the entertainment centre, you can try ten-pin bowling, ride the dodgems, practice mini-golf or play any of the smaller games available.

A recent centre of interest is the Museum of Museums, in Barton Square. With exhibits provided by a number of local sources, the museum takes visitors on an exploration of UK heritage. It covers the industrial past, transport, militaria, domestic history and many other aspects. There is also an art exhibition. It is open every day except Christmas day.

Reaching the Trafford Centre is relatively easy, although the roads can get congested at peak times. Junctions 9 and 10 from the M60 will bring motorists directly to the car parks (over 10,500 spaces). There is also ample parking for coaches (350 spaces). The integrated bus station in the centre provides direct links with Manchester and other nearby towns, and the airport.
