The Westfield Centre is found in the very centre of Derby and is the premier shopping experience in the East Midlands region. It offers a wide range of retail outlets, including around 190 shops and stores, places to eat and a 12 screen cinema, including 3D screenings. All indoors. The centre is arranged over three floors, with a centralised food court. It is linked by walkways to the adjacent Eagle Market and the Derby Theatre.
Disabled access and shopping has featured strongly in the planning and design of the centre, with wide lifts and walkways throughout. There is good allocated free parking in all car parks. Wheelchairs and scooters are available from the Concierge desk on level 1, subject to availability or through Shopmobility in the underground car park. Booking ahead is recommended.
There are disabled toilets within all the toilet areas plus a special disabled toilet suite on level 1, accessible by a radar key (also available from the concierge if you do not have your own).
For the youngsters who visit the centre, there is a popular Kids’ Club. Events and workshops are provided for club members during all the major school holidays, most of which are free. A reading and book club meets at the cinema each week – Bookworm Wednesdays.
For the parents, there are free “Mummy mornings” twice a month. Parents and carers can get together for a chat, coffee and to enjoy a demonstration or talk. Details are available through the Kids Club membership.
